Sitting in the garden, I spied a young shoot. The young shoot peeked at me, shy it looked away.

I said to the sky, “I look to the sun like the tender shoots, seeking my direction, my inspiration to grow.”

From the corner of my eye I saw the shoot, leaning in my direction.

I said to the birds, “I hear your song and feel the flow of life that bubbles up from the ground and out through my heart.”

And the tender shoot reached up and unfurled, a ripple of life from it’s base to its tip.

I said to the Earth, “I feel you Earth, my foundation, my roots, stability. My body is your body. I sink into you.”

With this the tender shoot found it’s footing, sinking deeper into the soil, growing roots down, down, down.

“I love you”, I said to the wind from my heart and my voice.

And the shoot looked at me now, full and clear and brave.

“You love me?” She asked.

“Yes,” I replied.

“But why?”

“Because you are Love itself.”

The shoot rippled and began to glimmer, to shine. A glow of light surrounding its body.

And all of the light around all of the plants, and all of the animals and all of the Earth glowed too.

And I knew she would be as she came to be.

Glorious, blossoming, rooted and free.

Loved.
